A Caving Crew trip that was pure joy

Throwback to a Caving Crew trip in the summer that was full of firsts…and lasts.

This is how I described it then:
“So great to take Matthew, Mark and my aunt Polly on their first trip with the Crew.

For Mark and Polly, this was their first caving trip since their childhood years, and for Matthew – the last caving trip before the birth of his second child.

We took it at different paces for different people, stopping to look at the rock formations and talk about how they’d been created, pointing the more enthusiastic people to the extra optional bits, reassuring those who appreciated the extra support.

Caving is a supportive sport – you’re there to help when they need supporting, offer a leg up, metaphorically or literally and get the group there and back together.

On this trip, some of the group encountered challenges that were new to them. We supported them on, watched with amazement as they pushed through their comfort zone and came away smiling.

We’re regularly doing these sorts of trips, and you’re invited. Join the FB group in my bio and stay tuned. ™‚”
