Bouldering is not something I find easy

Bouldering is not something I find easy.˜¯ My biggest fear in climbing is not heights, it’s not falling, it’s hitting the ground.’µ Bouldering (lower height, unroped climbing above crashmats) triggers this fear and so I find myself climbing very cautiously – almost the same as my trad climbing headspace.˜¬ This isn’t what “you’re supposed” to do, and I’ve no doubt it removes some of the fun. I feel intermediate-ish when roped climbing indoors, I feel like a scared newbie when bouldering. ˜…

You can usually push through fears of you try, and I believe I could become more confident falling off onto a mat, but until then, I’ll stick to my VB-V2’s and downclimb if it feels too high!™ƒ Thanks to John and Krystal for all their encouragement at this session at the Climbing Lab a few months ago! ˜Š
