Climbing Clan adventures at Dow Crag in Ambleside

The Climbing Clan April Ambleside weekend was a trip of many stories: ‘˜‘ Of learning how far Dow Crag is from the road

‘˜‘ Of Peter’s highest grade lead on trad yet

‘˜‘ Of Ryan missing the end of his route by about 10m

‘˜‘ Of me standing on a precariously balanced slab of soil and realising it wasn’t the right way

‘˜‘ Of fantastic food from Alex’s skilled hands

‘˜‘ Of really run out routes on Scout Crag

‘˜‘ Of Mat’s first multipitch trad lead

‘˜‘ Of Andy’s first outdoor second(?)

‘˜‘ Of jolly scrambles up Jack’s Rake with mum

‘˜‘ Of games involving slings that should never be mentioned again

‘˜‘ Of sitting around campfire beneath LOTS of stars

‘˜‘ Of Jake paddling in Stickle Tarn

‘˜‘ Of an entire rest day for me where I mainly sat and looked at the view

‘˜‘ Of cuddles with Alfie the adventure-dog

More soon please!
