With apologies to Tim Minchin:
I really hate mornings…
It’s not their fault, I know, but I still really hate them.
I’m hardly lazy.
I’d rather touch type on terminals than sleep here, to be honest.
And yes, I have all of the usual objections
To people who sleep late, to the somnification of afternoons,
To the characterisation of people who snooze
To wide variety in people’s views
But I still really hate them.
I’m not looking forward to mornings.
Though I’m not expecting to sleep past midday.
I’ll be waking up early,
And cursing the stars, the sky, the sun and the moon.
We’ll be doing this all again soon.
I’ll be waking up early
And cursing the stars, the sky, the sun and the moon.
We’ll be doing this all again soon.
I don’t go in for ancient wisdom.
That old “early to bed” thing is all bollocks to be honest
I get freaked out by clocks
Some of the faces they have are quite pretty but alarms are the cruelest.
And yes I have all of the usual objections
To the miseducation of children who in early childhood,
Are taught that 7am is a good time to arise
And to learn how deliver ear-piecing cries and bang on a box,
But I still prefer them to clocks.
I’m not expecting much sympathy,
The usual mix of giggles and groans is just fine by me.
Cos I’ll be waking up early,
And cursing the stars, the sky, the sun and the moon.
We’ll be doing this all again soon.
I’ll be waking up early
And cursing the stars, the sky, the sun and the moon.
We’ll be doing this all again soon.
And you my blog-reading friends,
You’ll reading this one day,
And you’ll think WTF?
Well, there’s just one thing I’d like to say:
…and this I’ll be saying, right til my death;
I’ll be cursing the stars, the sky, the sun and the moon.
and I’ll be doing this all again soon.
…cursing the morning again soon.
I really hate mornings…
It’s not their fault, I know, but I still really hate them.
