River Family.• Kayakers are like the Borg.
In real life people may come from different parts of the country, different backgrounds, different walks of life.
But when we’re on the water, we are one family. We look out for each other. We support each other. We are one.
Since I joined SWWK (Slightly), my river family has expanded to include so many wonderful people. People I ran a river with, people who helped run a shuttle, people who fished me out after an unscheduled riverbed inspection.
I can’t wait to find out how another year of paddling will strengthen the river family!
