Leading down the River Dee with experienced paddlers watching over

Some photos from the day in Jan, I “lead” down the Dee, watched over by Fraser, Rob and Jacqui with Stan and Mel.

Mel’s first trip down the Dee in quite a long time – and an awesome effort!

I learnt a good deal about leading groups on a river including:

‘˜‘ Be concise

‘˜‘ Brief the useful signals

‘˜‘ If in front, look back often

So helpful to be able to “lead” a group and have those learning experiences with people onhand if I got out of my depth. ˜˜Š Photos: Fraser on Seal launch rock, Jacqui worships her paddles, Mel chills at MEM
