One of my favourite things about Climbing Clan weekend trips is watching people apply their skills in completely new different situations. .–.
None of these climbers had ever climbed on slate before. For some, it was their first outdoor climbs.
.–.
But everyone pushed themselves, supported each other and encouraged the group onwards.
.–.
Some leaders learnt to lead slightly run out routes, some climbers learnt to strip the routes at the end of a climb, some people celebrated successfully getting to the top of something that looked impossible from the ground.
.–.
And this is what I love about our Climbing Clan weekends – everyone seems to come knowing only a few people, and leave, smiling amongst friends – having pushed themselves just the right amount.
