My favourite part of the Climbing Clan’s trip to Wiltonfest was when Matt and Luke brought us our own basecamp gazebo and then insisted on cooking vegan sausages and fried onions for anyone feeling hungry ©
Wiltonfest is the Northwest’s largest climbing festival, held every year at the start of September in the Wilton Quarries in Bolton.
Despite poor weather we managed to get a surprising amount done – people climbed outside for the first time and a number of people had a go top roping an E2.
Wiltonfest happens thanks to the tireless efforts of Tim G and the local BMC volunteers and it is thanks to them it is such an important date in the Climbing Clan calendar. Bring on next year!
