As lockdown hit, vanlife became increasingly unsustainable.
My style of vanlife relies heavily on outside services – making use of sports centres, supermarkets, cafés and other communal spaces.
As these shut down and travel became less possible, time in my van became less feasible. All my power is usually generated by driving.
Without the constant movement, my power generation instantly became unsustainable and I moved in with my parents.
This is something I’m lucky to be able to have to fall back on, and is a huge privilege that I acknowledge and am grateful for. I know that it is knowing that a place exists for me, that means I can continue.
As lockdown is lifting, so is my vanlife… But more on that in a future post!
