Throwback to a wonderful winter walk with Geoff and his dog Islay just before Geoff did something INCREDIBLE after months of planning! ®
A few years ago, a stranger called Jamie messaged Geoff on twitter asking for advice about outdoor gear. Geoff being Geoff, suggested, “why don’t we do a wild camp together, and I can share some thoughts with you?” ‘º
The camping trip came and went well, and time past whilst Geoff watched as Jamie’s health got worse until he was on dialysis.
One day, Geoff wondered if there was anything he could do to help one of our #OutdoorsFamily. ‘° He got to work… Months later, after days of blood, tears and anxiety… Geoff is back from hospital and Jamie is off dialysis!
Geoff gave Jamie one of his kidneys.
I feel so lucky to know Geoff (and his incredibly supportive wife Chrissie and dogs Islay and Pebbles). As our #outdoorsfamily friend James rightly says “he’s still a twonk” and if a twonk like Geoff can do this, you might be surprised what you can do. — Photos of Islay @geoffcrowther1 [twitter] on Lantern Pike and shoulders of moor near Little Hayfield
