Living in a campervan for 18 months

Til lockdown, I’d lived the past 18 months in my van without heating.

This sounds extreme, and a little out there, and I guess it is, but somehow it mostly hasn’t really felt that way.

In the spring/summer/early autumn, it really isn’t noticeable, and usually my vanlife sort of lifestyle doesn’t include lots of time at home when I’m not either driving, or lying in bed.

When you’re driving, it doesn’t matter because the van AC can warm your feet up. When you’re in bed, it doesn’t matter cos you’re under covers, and staying warm in bed is a very easily solvable problem.

The rest of the time, you’re either in bed, or not in the van. So temperature doesn’t matter.

In an ideal world, it’d be heated, but in a complex busy life, it’s slipped down the list of priorities because other things usually feel more important.

So there you have it. Feel free to ask me anything. Currently I’m land dwelling for lockdown ˜“
