Mam Tor is a classic Peak District landmark. It’s been familiar with me for a long time, and is perhaps “The Peak District’s Most Dangerous Mountain”
Why is it the most dangerous? Well of all the mountains in the Peak District, it (probably) gets the biggest number of Mountain Rescue Callouts.
Why does it get the most MRT callouts? Cos it’s one of the most popular and accessible
So if ranked “danger per visitor” it’s probably no different to anywhere else, but since I like using statistics to make you read a slightly misleading caption, I may have sensationalised slightly
We walked from the broken road, to back to and then to mam tor and down. A yellow brick road classic!
