On Sunday in the autumn, Neil, Amy, Jasmin, Judith, Samantha and me headed to Yorkshire for a daytrip down Mistral to visit Hall of the Mountain King.
This trip was put together to commemorate the fact I had reached 30 years old the day before but still was still a complete child.
Amy and Neil are skilled whitewater kayakers so to explore the edge of their comfort zone. Slightly to my surprise they shot through a crawl I don’t enjoy, with smiles on their faces!
We headed first to the Fairies’ Workshop where Sam pushed her comfort zone and herself through an awkward squeeze twice.
Jas, Judith and Sam had been to Mistral before, but never to the Fairy’s Workshop – and I’d only been there once, a long time ago.
Finally we returned to Hall of Mountain King where Jas and Sam made themselves some devil horns to wear on their helmets.
Judith explored some new methods of firmly securing herself to the cave and the advanced descending went to her head.
Everyone pushed themselves in different ways and came together to support each other. So many people asked me how I was doing and checked in on me!
