Running Town Falls with lots of water

Town Falls with lots of water. Complete ‘˜‘ .

.

Ever since I’d gone for a sketchy swim down the Dee, I’d been going over what had gone wrong: What options did I miss? Where could I have slowed down and looked more? How might I have used the river features to take me towards a better line?

It’s easy to get wrapped up in academic over analysis of a feature, but when the opportunity arose to kayak the Dee again on a huge with Nigel, I felt like I had a plan. (Centre left but bearing right – and punch into the “eddy” after the Weir. Line up for the tongues and straight line it down to the bridge. Far left line through the Weir near the takeout)

And this time it worked! Sure, definitely more style points are available and extra confidence tokens can be gained by repeating it but for now I’m happy.

Just got to figure out the line at lower water now £
