Before Christmas, The Caving Crew (Maria, Naomi, Rebs, Judith and me) had a nice walk around a familiar Derbyshire Chert Mine.
We had a look at the middle levels before heading up to the slightly chossier upper levels where we found some sweet sweet mushrooms (and tractor tires). Descending to look at the flooded lower levels, Rebs decided it was time for some wild swimming and eagerly launched herself into the geo-thermally-heated* water.
Good big stompy passage trip and only optional crawling – ideal for someone particularly nervous’s first underground trip! *this part is a lie. I was glad not to even get my wellies wet.
